Savory Butternut Squash Soup

Pre-Hurricane Sunday Cooking; Butternut Squash Soup
(a little lazy, I used canned butternut squash).

1 15oz can butternut squash
1 medium onion
2 carrots
1-2 cloves garlic
1-2 tsp chili flakes
1 tsp cinnamon
1tsp baking soda
2 cups vegetable broth
1 1/2 cups half & half

Sauté diced carrots and onion, add mined garlic, chili flakes, cinnamon.
Add veggie broth & simmer for 15 minutes. You can puree the broth & veggies at this point or leave it chunky ( that’s what I do).
Add the can of butternut and half and half. Whisk together and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
I let it simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
Serve hot and enjoy.
